There’s a place where I used to hide A fort of unending pride Back when I was young Brighter shown the sun And the courtyard was ever still With the taste of an evening chill I played by all the rules And I never sang the blues There’s a place where I used to hide Still helping me decide Helping me decide That stars will see you soon regretting half of the choices you’ve made here And if my memory’s in storage just don’t throw it away And as the sun may rise to meet your limited expectations The winter skies will cloud my eyes with empty promise of rain and you’ll… Never flash me that wanton gaze Never live for the younger days Ever closing eyes But I’ll never say goodbye You're the rock under which I crawled Who left me entranced, enthralled Fading photographs And nervous aftermath And this rock under which I crawled Helped me through it all Ya helped me through it all That stars will see you soon regretting half of the choices you’ve made here And if my memory’s in storage just don’t throw it away And as the sun may rise to meet your limited expectations The winter skies will cloud my eyes with empty promise of rain and you I can’t replace the photographs now collecting dust The pictures paint a different her, she seems so non-plussed A tolling of an iron bell echoes in the distance A constant dim reminder of how I met resistance From all that within you

Few can dodge the social draft A trendless gen., a tourist trap And though it’s fame it makes me laugh With foreign brain, an autograph Few can dodge the social draft A trendless gen., a tourist trap And though it’s fame it makes me laugh With frozen brain, an autograph Helped an artist through a hungry year Pulled his weight while propaganda steered Force-fed thoughts until it hurt to bleed Can’t regret what’s never meant to be Blank page, never wrong, never right Lackful search for sorrow Uninspired, just within my sight Wait until tomorrow Can’t explain what’s on my mind, what is mine? Breeds of violent cultures Only source of stimulus in my life Reeks of corporate vultures Roll it all away Scraping pavement on a heavy night Took a beating but I feel alright Wallet’s emptiness for my own sake Trickle down into the cups of fate Blank page, never wrong, never right Lackful search for sorrow Uninspired, just within my sight Wait until tomorrow Can’t rely what’s on my mind, what is mine? Breeds of violent cultures Only source of stimulus in my life Reeks of corporate vultures Roll...roll it all away Few can dodge the social draft A trendless gen., a tourist trap And though it’s fame it makes me laugh With frozen brain, an autograph Few can dodge the social draft A trendless gen., a tourist trap And though it’s fame it makes me laugh With frozen brain, an autograph Roll...roll it all away

When all the lights have dimmed Holding your guilt within You’ll share the stars with him tonight Flooded in neon blue Think what you say is true But then you leave and I’m denied I thought by now you’d call Then again you have it all Wish you could say the same for me I used to be so sure Now I’m sad and insecure Lay here and assume the worst to be Out of sight, out of mind That’s how it feels to me Can’t seem to write you off like that Hold on to what we had Small talk just makes me sad Guess our love was just a fad after all Feel love’s eternal sting For a while the pain made me sing I don’t expect the phone to ring again Out of sight, out of mind That’s how it feels to me Can’t seem to write you off like that Just when I began to Understand what you’re going through Long silence pushes away I lie wake in bed Echo the words you said Drowned sorrow, at least for today Today!

Remembering times I used to believe Perpetual motion once could be Your logicked mind showed me the way Lead down to our reality

Good enough if it meets all the standard rules Good enough if it brings in a dime All we need is to spice up the current fools With vials of attitude and bottles of hype Fashion has its way of breeding imbeciles Sends them down a road of trust and abuse Fashion has its way of breaking pedestals Revealing the innocence of those we’ve accused Auf weidersehen to the plastic arts Who’ve never played such a humble part When all that matters to songs is the beat Technical skill is the one amazing feat Auf weidersehen to creative drive Auf weidersehen to our ingenuity Auf weidersehen to the lullabies Auf weidersehen to our insecurities Good enough if it meets all the standard rules Good enough if it brings in a dime All we need is to spice up the current fools With vials of attitude and bottles of hype Fashion has its way of breeding imbeciles Sends them down a road of trust and abuse Fashion has its way of breaking pedestals Revealing the innocence of those we’ve accused You are here for the moment Don’t get used to the feel You’re the ones who are chosen ’Til they cut a new deal Auf weidersehen to the plastic arts Who’ve never played such a humble part When all that matters to songs is the beat Technical skill is the one amazing feat Auf weidersehen to creative drive Auf weidersehen to our ingenuity Auf weidersehen to the lullabies Auf weidersehen to our insecurities She takes the night and turns it to day She takes the night and she turns it away She takes the night and turns it to day

about

This EP is the first of a trilogy where each song leads directly into the next. Additionally, the last song of each EP will lead into the first of the next as well so when the trilogy is finished it will be like one seamless 18 track album.

The idea of perpetual motion, although unrealistic, fascinated me in my youth. I used to draw imaginary machines like the one shown in the album's cover art that could almost work in the real world if it weren't for those pesky laws of physics.

Minds Behind the Music: "The Quivering Palm has a unique sound...This is a diverse band that mixes electronic instrumentation along with traditional rock...Smooth bass lines and rich sounding guitars mixed with synths. Readers if you like diverse sounding tracks this is the band for you." Full review here: bit.ly/41jvZyr

The MIC: "Perpetual Motion Vol.1 covers an incredible array of genres for only being a six-track EP. From progressive rock to heavier grunge metal, this record has it all...The entire record is one grand Rube Goldberg Machine, with one genre swinging or falling into the next. If you’re looking for an indie EP with a lot of variety, Perpetual Motion Vol.1 is for you." Full review here: bit.ly/40Fvbny
